World Environment Day provides an opportunity to bring environmental and climate protection into everyday work. All locations are invited to develop ideas and activities together with their employees, such as clean-up campaigns, sustainable mobility initiatives, planting activities or information sessions. The aim is to raise environmental awareness, encourage sustainable action and make local engagement visible.

What gave you the courage to start?
World Environment Day provided the ideal opportunity to motivate employees at all locations to contribute their own ideas and make sustainability tangible. The decentralised approach gave us the flexibility to adapt activities to local circumstances and interests, while still working towards a shared goal.
The Outcome
The project engaged employees across different locations in exploring sustainability and developing concrete ways to make their working environment more sustainable. A wide range of activities were implemented, including Zero Waste Lunches, litter-picking campaigns, active lunch breaks, building insect hotels, and greening rooftop terraces and balconies.
The Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge was developing a common theme that could be implemented across all locations while leaving enough room for individual ideas. The locations differ in size, conditions and opportunities, so we needed a format that provided guidance without limiting creativity at the local level.
Most Enjoyed
The variety of ideas and the commitment of employees were particularly motivating. It was great to see how one shared idea inspired many different activities and how each location found its own way to get involved.
