Effective Giving in the Workplace

Effective Giving can be an incredibly impactful tool for employees and their workplace to have an impact on the world. With effective causes around Climate, Animal Welfare and Food Transition (but also Women Empowerment, Poverty & Health), there is a great opportunity for employees to connect internal ERGs and direct potential giving strategies the company already has towards more effecive causes. We also help them set up a giving strategy from scratch and provide speakers / business cases.

What gave you the courage to start?

We were aiming to make Effective Giving mainstream, and realised that the workplace was full of Morally Ambitious people that spend a lot of time in an environment with money to spend. We took our built skill-set and network and started building the toolkit, after which we applied for a grant to expand the effort and make it more professional.

The Outcome

First pilot events are happening as we speak, so no full outcomes yet, but there seems to be interest among employees - we hope this platform helps us extend our services to those interested!

The Impact

To be seen

The Biggest Challenge

To professionalise and make the effort stick, you need patience and a longterm relationship. To do so, we are aiming to have a dedicated resource/colleague to takte this on and make it sustainable.

The Biggest Learning

Companies are excited to be able to give with impact, but also give their employees a choice between different cause areas, rather than putting their efforts into one or two specific charities. Challenge is to connect morally ambitious colleagues to those in charge of the change (HR / CSR) and work towards convincing leadership together. When that is successful, the impact is enormous.

Most Enjoyed

The collaboration with our volunteers to build the toolkit was really insightful and a great boost for the speed at which we were able to deliver. With that, we had a good basis to ask for a grant and expand our efforts professionally which we managed to do, that was incredibly satisfying and gave the team a real boost.
