Our project promotes more sustainable consumption through a clothing swap organized by employees, for employees. Well-preserved clothes get a second chance and can find a new home. At the same time, the initiative raises awareness of the impact of our consumption habits and creates a space for exchange, connection, and collective action for sustainability.

What gave you the courage to start?
The decisive push came from a workshop where I had the opportunity to present and pitch the idea. The positive feedback and enthusiasm for the concept gave me the motivation and confidence to turn the idea into reality.
The Outcome
Across four events, numerous items of clothing have found new homes. Beyond the clothing swap itself, the events created opportunities for colleagues to connect, exchange ideas, and share positive experiences. Colleagues also offered minor sewing repairs, helping to extend the life of well-loved garments. Any unclaimed clothing was donated to a social organization selected together with colleagues, ensuring that as many items as possible could find a new home.
The Impact
The clothing swap inspired many participants to think more consciously about their clothing choices. It showed that clothes we love can often bring us joy for much longer and that more sustainable consumption can start with something as simple as swapping instead of buying new.
The Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge was reaching as many colleagues as possible and getting them excited about the idea. We wanted to create a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged conversation and made everyone feel inspired and happy to be part of the initiative.
The Biggest Learning
Our biggest learning has been the power of positive feedback. The response to our first events motivated us to keep going and take on new initiatives. As a network, we continue to connect with colleagues who value our commitment and are willing to support us – even without a budget or an official mandate.
Most Enjoyed
What we enjoyed most was collaborating with our colleagues. It was wonderful to see how enthusiastic participants were and how many people found a new favorite piece through the initiative. Knowing that we were doing something positive for both our community and sustainability made the experience especially rewarding.
