Sustainapril

With the “Sustainapril” campaign month, cima put the “Green Office” theme at the heart of everyday work in 2022 and 2026. Throughout April, employees received information, inspiration and practical tips on sustainable mobility, consumption, resource conservation and social sustainability. The campaign made sustainability tangible, encouraged small changes and strengthened organisation-wide exchange and a shared sense of responsibility.

What gave you the courage to start?

Sustainability was already an important topic for cima, but we noticed that many measures often remained abstract. We were motivated by the idea of making sustainability tangible and relevant to everyday life. Sustainapril aimed to show that everyone can make a contribution through small changes in their daily work. Its simple and accessible format gave us the opportunity to explore what happens when sustainability becomes a focus for a whole month.

The Outcome

Throughout April, employees received daily inspiration and practical tips on topics such as saving energy, sustainable mobility, resource conservation and sustainable consumption. The many ideas and suggestions were documented and compiled in the cima handbook, creating a collection of practical ideas that can be used beyond the campaign month.

The Biggest Challenge

The biggest challenge was communicating sustainability in a way that motivates rather than lectures. The tips needed to be practical, varied and relevant to all employees, regardless of their location or role. At the same time, it was important to show that many small changes can add up to make a significant difference.

The Biggest Learning

We learned that sustainable change does not always require large projects or investments. Often, small and easy-to-implement impulses can encourage reflection and lead to long-term changes in behaviour. We also learned how valuable the exchange of ideas and experiences among employees is for moving sustainability forward together.

Most Enjoyed

We especially enjoyed seeing how individual tips sparked conversations, new ideas and further exchange. Employees contributed their own suggestions and shared experiences, making Sustainapril more than just an information campaign. This shared learning and continuous exchange is what made the project special.
