    Reusing Server Housings

DIVIS builds video systems for freight and warehouse logistics. Components like mainboards, controllers and hard drives used to be scrapped along with their metal server housings at end of life. Since newer, more powerful components often still fit older housings, DIVIS now reuses them instead of discarding them — cutting e-waste and conserving resources.

What gave you the courage to start?

We saw the problem, and the opportunity here, and simply couldn't bear throwing all these valuable resource away any longer. So essentially it was a painful feeling that made us want to do something about it. And once we talked about the problem among the team, it wasn't a long way to start developing a olution. And luckly our management quickly endorsed the initiative.

    The Outcome

Less waste and e-waste, and a morivated, more engaged team, and more awareness to the aspects of circularity, resources and waste among the entire company.

    The Impact

A shift in mindset among employees about how equipment is handled and reused.

    The Biggest Challenge

Some employees were initially skeptical and unsure the new reuse process could really work.

    The Biggest Learning

You need people willing to lead by example and show that it's possible - and then it is possible!

    Most Enjoyed

Seeing how strongly senior management backed the new reuse process from the start.
