September 29th is International Employee Climate Action Day!
Sharing Resources, Supporting People
The BNS and RD RPS Green Teams launched a donation drive for Wärmestube Saarbrücken, a local support centre for people in need and those experiencing homelessness. Employees donated blankets, winter clothing, thermos flasks, hygiene products, and other useful items. By giving items in good condition a second life rather than throwing them away, the initiative combined practical support for people in need with a more sustainable use of resources.

The Outcome
On 2 December 2022, the BNS and RD RPS Green Teams delivered the donations to Wärmestube Saarbrücken. Thanks to the enthusiastic response from employees, the teams were able to collect a wide range of much-needed items, including blankets, tents, sleeping bags, mobility aids, and clothing. The donations provided practical support to people experiencing homelessness during the winter months.
The Impact
The initiative combined social impact with environmental responsibility. By passing on items that were still in good condition, it helped reduce waste, conserve resources, and encourage more conscious consumption. At the same time, it provided practical support to people in need and showed how small, collective actions can make a meaningful difference.
The Biggest Challenge
The main challenge was coordinating the campaign and making sure everything came together at the right time.
The Biggest Learning
If you really want to make a difference, anything is possible. :)
Most Enjoyed
Seeing the enthusiastic response to the campaign, the recipients’ joy and appreciation, and the sense of community it created.
